The biggest advantage Obama has had over the Republican Crazy Train....
Edited on Thu Aug-18-11 08:36 AM by matmar
in Obama's re-election bid is the fact that the entire field of current Republican potential opponents to Obama are, well, crazy.

If a Republican emerges out of the ether who isn't a nut-case tea-bagger type foaming at the mouth about tax-cuts and killing social spending programs, THAT will be a real challenge to Obama given the current state of the economy, Obama's ineffective leadership style and a promise of "change" that wasn't delivered. Gerrymandered congressional districts that fall in favor of the Republican Party aren't going to hurt their chances either.

Obama and the Democratic Party are in deep, deep trouble if that happens.

1. Can you name one non-crazy Republican?
I could have done so 10 years ago, but not today.

2. I don't like him, but....
Chris Christie.

And to my point about not being "crazy" - Christie recently appointed a Judge in NJ who's religion happens to be Muslim.

He called the "sharia law" crowd on the right - "crazies"

Pointing out the obvious as a Republican these days goes a long way, unfortunately for Obama.
