Matthews to RNC Chairman: ‘Tell Me Obama Walked Into Hell!’
Source: RawRelay
By Andrew Jones

Though it didn’t end with a guest leaving in the middle of an interview, Chris Matthew’s chat with Reince Priebus certainly contained its own fireworks.

On Hardball Friday evening, the MSNBC host interviewed the Republican National Committee chairman on his show for the first time. And passionate debate was not lacking in Priebus’ debut, which centered on Jon Huntsman’ tweet endorsing climate change and if the Republican Party preferred embracing “anti-intellectual” candidates.

Matthews repeatably asked Priebus to acknowledge the problems President Obama inherited from President Bush, along with explaining any difference between the GOP and the tea party. But the chairman decided to instead continue solely focusing on Obama’s record and not concede that Obama “walked into hell” as Matthews stated.

There was one area of agreement between the two, as Matthews asked Priebus if he believed Obama was a ‘patriotic American.’

“Of course,” said Priebus.

1. 'Of course' he said with a sh** eating smirk.
Yeah, the guy looked stronger and sharper than our gal. At least to me.
But, I guess he needs to be to defend billionaires in this economy.

I'd like to see him hung out to dry, personally.
Usually Matthews seems like a 'prick' to me.
This time he wasn't prickly enough.

=
My opinion.

4. I've met and talked to the weasel
here in Kenosha when he was running against Bob Wirch. He was shook in that interview...he looked like he wanted to cry and just kept going back to his talking points, which he likely had on a cue card or prompter for him. I think Debi Wasserman Schultz is really good, she's smart, can speak to the issues without resorting to talking points that have nothing to do with the questions asked and she's not easily flapped.

11. She could do more to represent the Progressives in the party.
As opposed to the New Democratic Coalition.
But after re-watching the video right now, he doesn't seem as strong ans I remembered.
True.

2. Thats why its called hardball.
Matthews is a rare bird, unfortunately. He takes no shit and cuts right through the garbage. I wish all networks would crack down on these damn talking points.

5. The irony of this is if a Republican gets into the White House this next election.
The trap they set for Obama will still be there.

It's not irony as much as tragedy.

8. Like the media is going to spring that trap on a Repub..
The deficit will utterly disappear from the national conversation the instant a Republican is elected POTUS.

10. Haha. Shame on me. How easily I forget.
Even if it isn't funny. So right you are.

However, at that point things might be serious enough that the media doesn't need to mention it. And it won't matter whose fault it is.

Ugh. I'm so sick of the alternate universe we seem to be operating in.

9. This should be the template for the next election.
Obama walked into hell, left by the previous Administration.

That is where Democrats need to begin the discussion.

Of course, Repubs will argue that he has had enough time to fix it but we cannot get out of a hole that deep as if it were a "normal" recession.
