9. It's the classic standard.
What shocked me is how seasick I felt afterwards. I was green for hours. I need a stable home in a temperate climate. I am a delicate flower.

Hopefully.

Didn't feel it over here in Cordelia, anyway.

8. Not going to happen
Unless you are in LA, the eastern media elites treat the west coast as if it does not exist.

10. The Mexicali earthquake was a PRIME example of that
Calexico had over 100 million in damage, Calexico where? And let's not even go to the damage down south from the border.

Calexico get better coverage from TV Azteca and televisa than they did from the San Diego Stations (except NPR)

25. Yep, it can.
It can also seriously threaten people's lives, as when Oklahoma got pounded by nearly 2 ft of snow Christmas 2009. We're so no prepared for that kind of weather.

28. i agree. if san fran ever gets, say, 10 inches of snow, they'll be freaking out.
Edited on Wed Aug-24-11 06:38 AM by Divine Discontent
heck, if they get 2 inches I think they would, because I don't recall it snowing the winter I was out there. so, getting the biggest earthquake in the Eastern USA in forever is a big deal, especially when our capital and national monuments are so close by and the area wasn't built with anything beyond a 5.8 earthquake in mind.
