It's Official..Rev. Al Sharpton officially tapped as MSNBC host

Frankly I Would Like To See the REV at the 10PM EST Slot and Ed back at 6PM EST

NEW YORK (AP) - After several weeks in a tryout role, the Rev. Al Sharpton has officially been named host of a weeknight hour on MSNBC.

The program, now called "PoliticsNation," will air at 6 p.m. Eastern and premieres next Monday, the network announced Tuesday.

In his new role, the well-known civil rights activist and minister will lead a lively and informed discussion of the day's top headlines, MSNBC said.

Sharpton called the hosting job "a natural extension of my life work and growth."

1. Shame they don't just hire an intern to read the frickin news headlines.
I guess journalism would go against their programming standards.

3. +1
I like MSNBC, but it is a terrible news organization. Which is odd because NBC news could potentially generate a good news station.

2. I agree about Ed being on at 6
I don't want to get "Fired Up" at 10 at night.

4. Not thrilled with this because his show seems disjointed but Al
sure is fun when he goes off on the RW pukes he has on the show. I wonder if he picks his guests or MSNBC has a list of people who have to be on in the hour because they are under contract.

5. I have already stopped watching MSNBC for the most part
I am tired of being 'entertained' to get my news information by non-journalists. The little I have seen of Sharpton has been horrible at best. I don't think any amount of time will season him enough to not look like he is reading off the teleprompter. How can you take Sharpton seriously?

7. I miss Cenk; but he may end up on CurrentTV. Al is much better than I expected though; he does
really BRING IT to the CONS.
