Bush on 9/11: 'I Didn't Have a Strategy. I Was Living Day by Day'
Bush on 9/11: 'I Didn't Have a Strategy. I Was Living Day by Day,' Former President Tells National Geographic Channel

Aug. 24, 2011 - At the very moment that George W. Bush was advised about attacks on the United States in Sept. 11, he was reading to a group of elementary school students in Florida. He famously continued reading the book, "The Pet Goat," for several minutes afterward, because, he later said, he "didn't want to rattle the kids."
Members of the media who were present in the classroom were also getting the news of the attacks.

"And it was like watching a silent movie," the former president told the National Geographic Channel in an interview for the channel's special program on the 9/11 attacks. "In the back of the room, reporters were on their cell phones. They were getting the same message I got. Which meant that a lot of people would be watching my reactions to these crises." read more>>>

Drip, drip, drip, ""He recalled noting that: "the dog didn't bark - it grizzled." Don't forget - this 'grizzling' for regime change was 6 months BEFORE 9/11."". drip, drip, drip, ""But there was a 'sea change' in attitude after the atrocities, with former national security adviser Condoleezza Rice targeting Iraq on the very day of the outrage."", drip, drip, drip, ""George Bush tried to make a connection between Iraq and al-Qaida in a conversation with Tony Blair three days after the 9/11 attacks, according to Blair's foreign policy adviser of the time."", drip, drip, drip, ""There was "a touching belief that we shouldn't worry so much about the aftermath because it was all going to be sweetness and light"."", drip, drip, drip, ""Boyce mentions the "dysfunctionalism" of Washington. He says that he would find himself briefing his American counterparts on what was happening in different parts of the US adminstration. Rumsfeld was not sharing information"", drip, drip, drip...........!

2. "...stand-in for a president..." ? Wasn't that Cheney and wasn't he giving directions?
Without Cheney either 9/11 would not have happened or it would have gone down very differently.
VP Richard Bruce Cheney really needs to answer to treason charges.

3. The logical response from anyone who lived through his presidency: "Well, Duh!"
What a fucking dumbass. He needs to crawl into a cave and stay there.

4. Yeah, that's what you want to hear from the POTUS.
:sarcasm:

At least make up a lie, for history's sake.

5. I want to barf every time I see the commercial for this show
It almost makes me want to cancel my National Geographic sub, but I've enjoyed it my whole life and will have to let this one slide. I told my wife I am not turning the TV on at all on 9/11. Blast metal and punk all day instead.

8. And it was a fabulous year for Laura and George
Forget that whole "running like a scared rabbit" stuff, where he flew first to Louisiana and then to Nebraska so that the bad guys couldn't ram Air Force One. Or whatever cover story they eventually settled on.

7. One thing Bush said that really bothers me,"I have no regrets". How in the world could a person who
was President of the US make such a statement? No reflecting? hindsight is 20/20 vision is hindsight? Astounding.

10. This was the same guy, remember
In 2004, during a debate with John Kerry, who was asked if he would have done anything differently in his first term. After pretending to ponder the question for a moment, Bush said he couldn't think of anything at all that he did wrong or that he'd do differently.

He was re-elected a few weeks later. The American people admire someone who stubbornly sticks to his principles in the face of overwhelming factual evidence. I suspect if a deep thought ever penetrated Bush's cranium, it would die of loneliness.
