"I have a lot of family members that listen to him and watch him and are frightened by the things that he says every night with his chalkboard...my mom and a lot of other people like her that watch him every day start to believe if they hear every day, every day, that there's this guy in Washington D.C., this black guy that hates all white people and he wants to take your money . . . and he wants to destroy the country you grew up in. You feed that vile message to Americans every day, it's going to have an impact."

7. Joe is one of only a few nationally known Republicans willing to call out the far Right
This morning he was defensively reminding people of his very conservative voting record in Congress, because he said Republican friends were accusing him of turning liberal. To his credit he then went on to rrerpeat that the right does need to reflect on their use of violent imagery and language, and he called out Republicans who wanted Obama to come off poorly at the ceremonies in Arizona today.

12. The other name for that "vile message" is "Republican strategy" and
it has been consciously implemented as such for the past two decades. Someone care to point that out to him? What happens in those strategy meetings at the upper level there? They control the marketing of the ideology. In fact, isn't that how Rove made his chops, perfecting this as a way of doing political business?

13. I don't like Scarborough...
...but credit where credit is due. I am glad that he said it, and hope it provokes more discussion. Anything that might hasten Beck's downfall as a political influence is a Good Thing, in my book.
