I've worked the past two evenings at hurricane shelters in NYC, spent Saturday prepping my house, and today un-prepping it: but not before a tree came down two houses away. So, just to get back up to speed, what's the current complaint?

1. The media was hype
george will. now howie Kurtz...

That is the emerging meme...

Can you hear Cantor and Boehner?

Oh and we should defund the NWS and the Storm chasers.

That's the cliff notes.

You need some rest young man! Talking from experience there

4. We spent too much $ for nothing, need to eliminate the NWS
and some shit about how Obama was on Vacay on the leadup to Irene as opposed to attending a birthday party for a random US Senator as US Presidents are expected to do under such circumstances.

Next week?

Who knows.

Thanks for your volunteer work at the shelters. Know that you saved lives (and I don't say that lightly). Falling trees and drowning are nothing to laugh at. I saw on NY1 today that the arrests last night were ~40 as opposed to the normal ~350 for an average summer Saturday night. I hope everyone in the boroughs had a peaceful and uneventful weekend.

:hi:

Personally, I don't care if she wears white after Labor Day. It's her cleaning bill.

9. This is how it works
Obama does something right: the praise lasts about a day; under exceptional circumstances that can be extended to two days.

Obama does something wrong: the condemnation and attacks last a minimum of two weeks but have lasted as long as two years in some cases.

29. If we didn't have big banks we'd have to stuff our billions into mattresses!

Ever think about that?

And if we didn't have billionaires how many maids and domestic caregivers/workers would lose their jobs?

We don't expect the rich to wipe their own asses now, do we?

35. Thank you so much, T_y_L!
What you said. That's all there is to it.

There is nothing more.

The Royalists around here who seem to think a President is some kind of cross between a King, a rock star and one of those sad-eyed orphan paintings on velvet.... make me tired.

Your 2 sentences have the power to liberate!

26. Nothing!
The economy is humming along fantastically at full employment and strong growth. The productivity and output gains are being s hared by all, not just a handful of kleptocrats. Wall Street criminals are being vigorously prosecuted and we clawed back some of those unlawful gains and wound down the zombie banks, selling off assets and wiping out junior bondholders so that taxpayers aren't on the hook for $1.5 Trillion any more.

Climate change is being is being addressed and we've dramatically reduced our carbon emissions. Holder stopped jailing cancer patients over medical cannabis and decided to prosecute Bush and Cheney for torture and war crimes. The President endorsed equal rights for all and has been a fierce advocate for gay marriage. Taxes have been raised on the rich and poverty is a thing of the past. We declared victory in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the troops are coming home. The defense budget has been cut and social programs have been strengthened. Forget about that tar sand pipeline - we don't need it because we've got an energy plan which increases funding for green energy while reducing our overall consumption.

Everything is great, never better! You can resume putting your fingers in your ears and shouting lalalala now.

...of the generation that has noticed that there isn't really any desire to solve anything - so long as the campaign money flows in.

Seeing this has led that generation to get all pissed.
