1. Check's in the mail, I'm sure.
Dershowitz lost any credibility a decade (or more ago) with his justification of torture. Pond scum would be more enlightening.

2. I'm thinking The Dersh ends up as the next ambassador to Tel Aviv
if Palin gets in. Or maybe she sends him to the UN.

3. Thank God for Alan Dershowitz
I'm so glad he's around to tell me what is and isn't offensive. I wonder if calling him a scum-encrusted pus bucket is offensive? I'd better ask him.

5. One Jew does not speak for all American Jews
Dershowitz does not speak for all Jews. If ever want to have fun, attend a Temple board meeting. Five Jews can easily have six or seven opinions on a topic.

Here, I disagree with Dershowitz as does the ADL and other Jewish organizations who I trust on this iusse. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/plum-line/2011/01/breaking_adl_condemns_sarah_pa.html

6. I never implied that Dershowitz spoke for anybody but himself.
My point was about his personal odiousness in helping the Mamagrizzleinfuhrer get off the hook. And nothing else.

OK?

8. No but Breitbart is trying to make the case that this language is okay if one Jew approves
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 02:57 PM by Gothmog
It is breitbart and his ilk who are trying to justify the use of this language on the grounds that it must be okay so long as they have one Jew who approves of the use. Again, the ADL and other Jewish groups are all very clear on this issue.

9. I'm aware that they are.
My point was that what Dershowitz is doing here is both self-serving(in the link, he makes it clear that part of the reason he's trying to legitimize the use of the phrase by Palin is that he used it to attack the Goldstone Report)and an attack on the solidarity of the American Jewish community on this issue(which is deeply ironic, given the degree to which Dershowitz has always demanded unquestioning "unity" among that community in defense of what the Israeli government does in the name of "security").

Does this further clarify my intent? I hope I've established that you and I aren't at odds on what The Dersh has done here.
