Published in 2008! GOP goes on about US's highest corporate tax rate in the world (actually Japan's is higher), but show me a corporation that has paid it! We need to FLATTEN the TAX CODE!

1. Exactly -- that's a red herring. What they SHOULD be talking about

is the tax rates in the Cayman Islands and other tax havens where US corporations are "headquartered" -- and why they should be allowed to make money here while legally avoiding paying taxes.

2. Don't think a flat rate tax code is progressive. One suggestion, close corporate loop holes.

I don't understand a Value Added Tax well enough to know if it would be a good idea or a bad idea.
Would a VAT insure corporations doing business in the United States "paid" taxes, albeit indirectly?
