If you think the Obama team didn't know what time the GOP debate was next wednesday...
...I've got a bridge to sell you.

This is brilliant.

Who was it a month ago that got suspended by MSNBC for saying Obama was being "a dick" to Republicans?

Well... this current move is deliciously dickish. All of the tea partiers will be watching the debate on MSNBC, while the rest of the country will be watching the President on the other networks.

The Tea Partiers have to choose between boosting MSNBC's ratings or watching the President! Bwahahaha!

4. what's dickish about it?
it will give them something to talk about.

And it will give people a great way to compare what the GOP is saying about Obama to what Obama is actually doing. People can judge whether the GOP is living in reality or a bizarre fantasy world.

5. Because it will severely diminish the audience for the GOP debate

Obama is stepping on their toes.

Especially since two of the debaters, Bachmann and Paul, are members of congress and will have to miss the "joint session" or miss the debate.

9. if that were the reason it really would be dickish
and petty. The president of the United States messing with one of a million GOP debates just to step on their toes?

But I don't think he's doing that, I think he's doing something totally legitimate, which is to provide a comparison between himself and his challengers. "They want to talk about me and what I'm doing? Ok, here I am and here's what I'm doing. Go talk about it."

7. Come on now, you know it is just a tad dickish.
I also think it is brilliant. Dickishness is not always a bad thing.

8. What if MSNBC decides to air the speech? I agree with Carney,
the debate is one of many, many, this is about JOBS and nationally important. I would hope MSNBC would be smart on this one...Did I just say that?.
