Crash witnesses make off with spilled marijuana
SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE / (09-01) SAN JOSE -- A pickup truck hauling large bags of marijuana overturned and spilled its load in south San Jose, but passers-by took care of much of the cleanup, police said today.

Onlookers rushed to scoop up the dumped weed as the driver of the white, 1992 Toyota pickup fled from the scene of the crash at Blossom Hill Road and Playa Del Rey at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

When officers arrived, most of the marijuana had vanished along with the driver, who left a loaded gun behind in the truck. Police are still looking for him.

5. That's what I was thinking. Saved the state some money, and kept children
from accidentally finding the weed. I say medals all around for these civic-minded folk...
