Sorry if cynical, but the GOP is beyond caring about average Americans. Unless they think it will lose them votes they will continue to be obstructive!
I hope Obama tries to be civil but also it ready to jump their ass when they are not!

1. McCain & Kyl
During the memorial, I was watching Kyl, Kyl's wife, McCain, and wife. In my opinion, they were not a happy foursome; especially Kyl's wife who was sitting directly behind the President. She hardly ever clapped during the whole event and was constantly staring daggers at Michelle.

At the end of the memorial, I watched as the President moved along the front row shaking hands and saw McCain just turn his back; he wouldn't acknowledge the President. This guy is such a 'little' man and will never get over losing the Presidency.

Kyl seemed to always have a forced smile on his face.

The Republicans 'WILL' not change in the Senate; guarantee it.

3. The McCains have become bitter fussbuckets
Has-beens, nobody likes em, worthless excuses for human beings. HE will never, ever be president because of his temperament and lack of charisma. It's a shame a war hero has diminished himself to this level. HE should retire and disappear.

5. I noticed the woman sitting next to Kyl looking very angry most of the time
but especially when the President was speaking. You could see the hatred on her face. Not sadness. HATRED. I hope people got pictures of it. I know the right wing is probably scouring all images taken by the press last night to find just one that makes the President or First Lady look bad.

2. Not cynical at all...they have no concept of decency, and believe
everything Obama does is for politics, just as everything they do is...

6. I was just thinking how uncomfortable McCain and his wife
had to have felt at this memorial...he brought Palin into this arena and I'm surprised he didn't get more ugly stares.

7. We don't need one GOP person to change, we just need the support of enough "independents"
to keep them out of power until the GOP dies off.

That's what the Pres accomplished with his speech.

8. Gonna take more than one person and one minute to do it....
It's going to take all of us who prefer decent and fair debate and discussion on issues and it's going to take more than just this week or next month.

Not sure if we can fully take advantage of the momentum of this moment.

9. Progressives will make a point of trying to change ... as Keith Olbermann has done over the past wk.
But the GOP will blithely keep on keeping on, getting nastier by the day. Oh, and screaming about "free speech and the Constitution" while doing so. I'm completely cynical about Obama's speech -- as great as it was -- changing much.

The voters need to rise up and punish those who continue with the nasty rhetoric ... getting voted out is the only thing these jackasses understand.

And the Fox Noise and RW radio gang CAN'T be voted out.
