1. It's called Humpty's Dictum...
And it is a model of truly monumental arrogance.

2. More info, please?

Yesterday I discovered Limbaugh (I assume that's who you're talking about) wrote as part of a book, perhaps, a list of "35 Undeniable Truths," and the 34th was listed as "words mean things."

Did he elaborate on this today or something?

Thanks. :hi:

3. On Humpty Dumpty, here:
http://www.wordspy.com/words/HumptyDumptylanguage.asp

"There's glory for you!"
"I don't know what you mean by 'glory,' " Alice said.
Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. "Of course you don't—till I tell you. I meant 'there's a nice knock-down argument for you!' "
"But 'glory' doesn't mean 'a nice knock-down argument,' " Alice objected.
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less."
"The question is, " said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty. "which is to be master—that's all."

4. LOL! I was so focused on Limbaugh and his "words mean things"
hypocrisy that I thought he was being referred to as Humpty Dumpty in the OP!

Thanks. :)
