Nobel Peace Prize Winners Urge Obama to Reject Tar Sands Pipeline - Care2 Causes NRDC
Will he reject it or bend to the oil/gas lobby?

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and seven other Nobel Peace Prize winners have written to President Obama calling on him to reject the proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

This letter is yet another sign that the world is waiting for President Obama to make the right decision on the pipeline.

From these global luminaries to the community leaders along the proposed pipeline route to the prominent climate scientists who have researched the dangers of producing tar sands oil to the more than 1,250 people who were arrested in the sit-in at the White House, people have made it clear that the pipeline is a dangerous move in the wrong direction.

After his announcement last week that he was abandoning stronger limits on air pollution, the president needs to send a clear signal that he values the planet’s future. He can do that by rejecting Keystone XL

1. He doesn't follow the advice of Nobel winning economists,
What makes you think he'll follow the advice of other Nobel prize winners.

3. How sad. The presidency is bought.
We had a chance to begin righting our ship but we failed to really try. And now there's not even the pretense of trying. Will Pres. Obama come out and explain why he's allowing this? When? Or why not?

We are watching our earth (physically) and country (financially, spiritually)die. Really. It is happening. While we bitch and moan about Perry and Bachmann and the Teabaggers screaming "Let him die!", it's all a sideshow. Blue v. Red is a ruse to keep us occupied and divided. Because there's no true Blue in politics, with very few exceptions. Just shades of Red.

The only thing that has a dream of slowing our demise is you and me and the rest of us who won't sell out. God help anyone who still thinks Obama has the desire, the will, or the stones to join us.

4. I called the WH and told them that the pipeline was a give away to the KOCH brothers (I am sure
they knew but thought I didn't) and an environmental disaster. What did you do?
