Dead dogs found in landfill today, 22 shelter dogs used for target practice...
Chesterfield County Animal Shelter on Goodale Road, Chesterfield, SC

This animal shelter is run by the Sheriff, and manned by prisoners. The Sheriff had the shelter added to his budget, and does NOT like it. Odds are the bullets used were probably law enforcement issued too.

Facebook thread, the album contains pictures of the dogs when they were alive and in the shelter too: www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6470485&l=97cb8b41ce&a...

One news story: www.wsoctv.com/news/27085002/detail.html

"On Friday morning, Debbie Farhi dug up a dog in a pit across the street from the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter on Goodale Road. She told Eyewitness News she heard from shelter employees that they had taken several dogs to the area and shot them."

<snip>

I didn't want to post the gruesome pics here but will post the url. I am just outraged!!

8. It would not be difficult to match up the bullets to the gun that shot them.
You just need a clean forensics team and subpoenas.

12. My Rescue Lab and I would both like to tell that sheriff to go fuck himself!
(Actually, she's such a sweet girl that she wouldn't say a thing like that, so I guess it will just have to be from me.)

29. My cat wouldn't think twice about saying it.
Edited on Tue Sep-27-11 10:47 PM by Jamastiene
Actually, I can probably get her to say it twice and I'll say it too. Hell, I'm tempted to say it twice too.

That town is about 30 miles from where I live. That is what it is like down here. Animals are REALLY far down on the totem pole. People aren't exactly treated that great either.

It's horrible down here. When I was a teenager, my 18 year old dog got out of the yard and we looked all over for him. We never did find him, but I dreaded those daily trips to the pound here in my county. The things I saw there still haunt me to this day. We made damn sure at least to check every day for Socrates(I called him Sockie, for short). After a few months of that, we were pretty sure he wasn't coming home. He got out about 3 times in his entire life. He visited the neighborhood kids and then came home those times that it happened before. That time, though, he didn't come home.

Still, the things I saw at the dog pound here...I won't tell about them(it is too graphic), but I can never forget them either. As horrible as it is, what that sheriff did down in Chesterfield sounds like something that would happen in this area.

Luckily, now, in my county, that horrid dog pound is not in use any more. We complained to local government and talked to all the vets in town. Now, we have a Humane Society that tries its best to adopt animals out and sends the ones it cannot to rescue organizations. Before that, the untold horrors that happened at that pound. I'll never get over it.

So, yes, I would like to tell that sheriff to go fuck himself too. I'm sure Sunday Girl, my 19 year old cat, would say it too. That's her personality. She has a twisted sense of humor and is very smart. She understands everything we tell her. It's not just that she has a vocabulary of words that she understands and that's it. She understands everything we say. Everything. Don't mention ham, fish, or chicken anywhere within earshot of her unless you plan to deliver the goods. She will stay at you until you go get her some if she hears you mention it. I know her. She would gladly tell that sheriff to go fuck himself, lol.

14. A disturbing crime. There is something really wrong with the people who are supposed to be
protecting us. I don't know if disturbed people are attracted to the job, or if the job disturbs the people, but something is seriously wrong all over the country.

17. did you see the part about the shelter being added to the police budget? budget cuts.
Edited on Tue Sep-27-11 01:29 PM by DrunkenBoat
it's not just about personal characteristics.

if the police shot the dogs to save money, that's down to budget, not personal bloodlust.

the ptb squeeze us then set us judging one another for the predictable results of the squeeze. meanwhile they're sitting fat & laughing.

30. Not to mention that they were taking dogs out of the shelter and using them
in dog fighting rings:
http://www.seattledogspot.com/2011/03/21/undercover-volunteer-alleges-dog-fighting-ring-at-animal-shelter/

The depravity of that sheriff and the news coming out about the things he did just keeps getting sicker by the minute.

31. If it happened just a few miles north, it would.
I don't think SC has animal cruelty as a felony. NC does now, thanks to Governor Bev Perdue and Susie, first dog to ever sign a bill into law in NC.

were drowned or shot in wetlands behind our property. Only psychopaths kill animals like this.

May my poor brother and sister canines hurt by these beasts be happy now in the Great Hunt.

I hope that all the humans involved in this from the ones that did the deeds to the ones that oversaw, allowed, and perhaps covered them up, be haunted by the spirits of the Great Hunt. Let them feel being chased down by the very canines they killed every night for the rest of their lives.
