Remember the 2004 Republican National Convention?
This is what the NYPD got up to then. It didn't get the media attention it deserved but it is now .

Quote: " Guantanamo on the Hudson was a term coined during the Republican National Convention by a lawyer who, amongst 1000 other people, was detained in a facility by the New York City Police, in such conditions that he said that the city had created its "own little Guantanamo on the Hudson" (an allusion to the tortures reported in prisoners camps in Guantanamo)...Several cases have since gone to court, and it has come out that the charges of resisting arrest in those cases were completely fabricated. Video evidence was shown of defendants complying peaceably with police demands. Many of the cases have since been summarily dismissed. Some of them, as of 2011, however, remain open and are expected to proceed to trial."

So don't expect too much justice this time around but maybe some more heavy handed tactics. The fascists at the top want to get rid of this movement before it gains any momentum just like in 2004 and 2003.

1. Really bad experience
A friend of mine was arrested for protesting by lying down on the sidewalk and refusing to move. He was in his late 60's. They put him in a large room with many other people. They had no place to sit down except on the filthy floor. When he was released he was given a ticket that had to be signed off at the local court house. They released him in the middle of the night. There were no cabs or buses so he had to walk a long way to the court house.

3. Those demonstrators were inspiring terrorists
They were lucky they weren't summarily executed in the streets for their opposition to the President in a time of war!

Did I get the right ethic for the situation? It's pretty confusing for me to remember which executions are bad and which ones are good, and I'm still not sure which one would be right for this one.
