1. There's good economic news in MA, too.
You can see the trend: the research money goes where the brains are, where there are well educated people who have health care (altho CT doesn't have the universal coverage that MA does; we should).

The Malloy-hating Tea Partiers in CT are really gonna have shit fits over this. Doesn't play well in their scenario about how Malloy is just a wastrel of tax payers money and getting nothing for it...

2. Malloy has to deal with a difficult situation.
Rowland and Rell did not deal with the problems regarding the budget and funding for pensions. Had Tom Foley been Governor, the state government would have been forced to shut down as no budget would have been passed.

3. Foley was such a nightmare! We dodged a bullet in that election.
While Linda McMahon was never, ever gonna be our Senator, Foley could well have fit the job description for lots of people. He looked decent and sounded good. But thank god the unions stepped up and fought like hell. He's gonna get thru all this and come out good, I predict...
