David Cameron has made a grovelling apology for his treatment of women amid fears that the Tories are losing support from female voters.
The Prime Minister publicly said sorry to two female MPs whom he was accused of dismissing with sexist put-downs in the House of Commons, admitting he had ‘screwed up’.
Senior Tories are concerned by opinion polls which show the party haemorrhaging support from women – who vote in greater numbers than men.

‘What I find frustrating is that I’m not a sort of “All right luv, I’m down at the pub tonight”. That’s not me. But obviously I’ve come across in this way.’
