What we are seeing is the beginning of a new way of living.
We must not let the people and power structures of old determine the outcome of the current time, we must think for ourselves.
We must be bold in our new ideas.
We must have new Renaissance.

3. Greed has its place, it's here for a reason.

But so too does altruism have its place. One is the instinct to promote the survival of self, and the other is about the survival of the group as a whole, which will also include the survival of self, generally.

We must not attach simplistic terms and analysis to the problems at hand.

It is very easy to demonize others.
To think that you are better than someone else, or that you have all the ideas in this world.
But you are no better, were you in their shoes, it is very likely you'd do the same as the people you rail against.

Finally, the most important idea you can have is to listen to other people and gain from their experience.

4. Greed is a disease and should be treated as the anti-human scourge that it is. Like the plague. n/t

9. Well, there's self-interest, and then there's greed
and I don't think they're the same thing at all.

To me, greed is wanting/needing/requiring more than you need, excess, an obsessive need to acquire more and more and hold on tightly, not want to share

That's different from self-interest and doing things in your own self-interest. Altruism can be done from self-interest, when the psychological driver to perform an altruistic act results from a self-interest drive to share and/or help.

5. LOVE the optimism but I dont see it

The 60s counter-culture didn't do it, so I don't see how we can do it now. The oligarchy is more entrenched than it was back then, the media is now a corporate propaganda ministry and the right is even more dangerous than before.

7. Is it really about OWS or is it about what you want for yourself?
That's the question. Today can be the start of a new way of living for you, if you want it to be.

8. The media is so focused and dangerous now. In the 60's it was diverse, but
now MSM marches in lockstep with the similar agenda they seem to follow. And, as you said, the tentacles of the oligarchy now run far, wide and deep. Also the propaganda techniques today are well honed. And, IMO, the general populace is far more dumbed down than in the 60's. I wish I saw a way out of this, but it's all become very bizarre now. The country seems intent on defeating itself.
