Police: Possible sexual assault in Occupy Portland camp

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police said they are investigating a possible sexual assault in Chapman Square where the Occupy Portland protesters are camping.

Police said no victim has been identified and the allegation has not been substantiated. Police are working with representatives from Occupy Portland to figure out if the assault actually happened, according to Sergeant Pete Simpson.

Officers were flagged down Friday night at 11:15 p.m. at SW 5th Avenue and Main Street by protesters, Simpson said. Officers learned a woman may have been sexually assaulted in a tent in the square, but she did not want to be identified.

It’s unclear if the potential victim is an adult or a juvenile, Simpson said.


So this local TV station reports that there may have been possibly maybe a *ahem* SEXUAL ASSAULT, PEOPLE, which may or may not have actually happened, but something may have happened which obviously is the fault of the DIRTY SMELLY HIPPIES in Portland, but maybe not, but maybe the victim was a JUVENILE.

Jesus.H.Christ.

Now, if this turns out to be true, it's a crime. Something tells me this is complete bullshit designed to turn the public against the 99% they all belong to.

God, how I hate these people.

this just reeks of bullshit. I've lived here all my life, and KATU-TV is a reliable provider of local BS.

We're policing our own. Regardless of the veracity of this report, there are bound to be some bad apples in any group this big. Occupy Portland has been behaving responsibly from the get-go. The cooperation with the Marathon people is a great example. Not trying to turn the overnight stays into a party is another. We're staying focused and non-violent...and regardless of what the obsolete Old Media tries to do, word will get out.

Still, it could have happened.

Actually, there may have been several murders. It's possible.
