Is there a way for people on line to occupy a specific site?
Is there a way for people on line to take a stand and expose the numbers of us that are pissed off?
How many people does it take to log on to one site to fill the bandwidth?

1. If you're talking about a Denial of Service (DOS) attack, that's generally done with
slaved computers or a big stack of servers trying to access the same URL all at the same time. Clogs up the Intertubes. Not recommended.

5. They are also illegal
"Denial-of-service attacks are considered violations of the IAB's Internet proper use policy, and also violate the acceptable use policies of virtually all Internet service providers. They also commonly constitute violations of the laws of individual nations."

6. I thought everyone knew that. You can go to jail and get your ass sued off, both.
Notice I advised, "Not recommended". Kids, don't try this one at home. Literally, unless you live in Waziristan or China.

7. I was just adding to your comments.
Many users just skim subject lines. I assumed you were aware that it's illegal. :)

8. Thanx. In this day and age, counseling someone how to tear off pillow tags can land you in GITMO

3. I don't have the answer to your question...
and while I can't totally wrap my brain around it, I do like the general idea you're raising.

Is there a way to "occupy" online media sites like Fox that mutilate journalism; Bank of America and other corporate transgressors, etc?

I personally don't have an interest in crashing sites, but if something could be done to bring attention to how many people disagree with their practices by doing something online that gathers focus, that's cool.

4. Maybe a DU activist action?
Where we all go and post on articles critical to OWS?
