Sarah Palin's long, long 15 minutes

You've really got to hand it to this fugitive from hell. She stretched her 15 minutes out like an unbreakable condom.

And you've really got to pity the know-nothings who bought the snake oil she was selling and who have now moved on to supporting some other disease with a different name.

I don't remember who said, "In America, anything is possible." Sarah Palin seems to have proved it.

Yet, my feeling is that she's not yet gone from the public stage. I have the feeling that making her finally go away will be like trying to get dog shit off your shoe.

Consider the possibility of a brokered Republican convention. None of the candidates can break 25% after the 10th ballot. Suddenly, the Queen of Alaska, saddled up on a polar bear, makes her grand entrance into the convention on a gigantic float of teabags, guns, and crosses. Stunningly under-dressed in a USA flag print bikini, she gets to the podium and asks, "Who you're gonna nominate, my fellow Americans?" "SARAH!!!!, returns the crowd. "You betcha", she says and winks back...before turning and accepting the nomination tiara from a grateful Koch sponsor.

At least this is how I think she's fantasizing her convention comeback....

loses its bizarre allure. Ever see members of that high school mean girl 'clique' years later? They definitely have a lost (and discarded) sense about them. Sarah and her winged monkey brigade of sycophants are all stuck in that high school (junior high school?) mentality. The world, meanwhile is moving on.

in coming years, had she ever applied herself to anything other than the most superficial, monetary, and revenge objectives. I wonder if it will ever sink into her how very different an intelligent, hard-working, and dedicated woman like Hillary Clinton will be viewed in contrast to herself.
