I know cameras, in general, have gotten quite small, but what about videos?

Thought it might be interesting to 'oversee' the OWS crowds with a balloon cam.

1. I asked about that, they definitely need to secure the view from above.

2. I read several years about about little cams that are like maple seed wings...
...they float down out of the sky and take pics. You know a maple seed wing just sort of flutters down.

8. Cool. You mean they are dispensible, one time use?
So someone would have to drop them from a height?

3. There certainly are.

Of course, you might be thinking of a tethered balloon. I'm sure that could be done, too.

It's a good idea and I'm betting there are those in Liberty Park who could implement it effectively.

interestedly,
Bright

9. Nice! Of course that may be a little higher than needed...lol. However it IS a global event.
So maybe there will be some clever MIT folks in the OWS crowd to help us out with this little experiment.

5. Of course. You can get a small wireless video camera for under $40.

I recommend DealExtreme.com. They're based out of Hong Kong and sell a lot of factory overstock and generic type electronics. I've bought from them several times; their stuff is cheap but reliable for the most part. Just bear in mind that it takes a long time for their stuff to get here, usually two to three weeks.

12. Those look PERFECT!
I can't even believe that price!

Do you know what kind of distance it can handle and how wide the coverage? I'm not camera savvy so
don't know how to interpret the description with regards to those two things. Have you experimented?

Thank you so much!

14. Cute little camera. Don't know how heavy it is, but i'll bet
one (or two) balloons would make it airborm. I wish I knew more about all this, but I'm afraid
someone else with the tech knowledge will have to take on this project.

15. That would be very very very very so so so so so cool! Let us know if you pull it off.
Another thing you might try is a RC helicopter but the cops would probably just shoot it out of the sky.
