Lawrence O’Donnell Booted To 10pm ET; Ed Schultz Moves Up To 8:00pm ET
Edited on Wed Oct-19-11 05:10 PM by Tx4obama
Lawrence O’Donnell Booted To 10 p.m.; Ed Schultz Moves Up To 8:00

In a move that some might see as a sign of desperation, MSNBC has shaken things up to see if they can spark their flagging ratings. Beginning Monday, October 24th, The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell will move back to its original time slot of 10 p.m., with Ed Schultz‘s The Ed Show moving up to 8:00.

Schultz will become the second anchor to try and maintain the ratings left after Keith Olbermann‘s defection to Current TV. The 8:00 time slot, while being a clear upgrade and more natural fit for the talking point-hitting Schultz, isn’t exactly an easy task. O’Donnell’s ratings have suffered of late, possibly due to CNN’s new lineup that has Anderson Cooper at 8:00. Both men lag far behind FOX’s The O’Reilly Factor, and it’s important to note that in total viewers, according to TV Newser, O’Donnell more than doubled Cooper’s ratings at 8:00.

But now it will be Schultz tasked with capturing viewers and providing a strong lead-in to the jewel of MSNBC’s lineup, The Rachel Maddow Show. He certainly has a flair for stirring things up, In May, Schultz was suspended for a week for calling Laura Ingraham a “right wing slut.” O’Donnell, who is much more nuanced and less of a rabble-rouser, has a style that may fit in better at 10:00 anyway. And his “Last Word” title once again makes sense at the end of MSNBC’s prime-time block.

3. It's a great site to find political videos.

And they have lots of stuff posted before it can be found anywhere else, such as SNL's political clips on Saturday night.

I don't care who that site is owned by (Dan Abrams) or linked with because, until a better site shows up with tons of good political videos, it will be a great resource to go to for videos since their front page is 'always' loaded with tons of vids http://www.mediaite.com/

5. I Don't Care If My Toilet Paper is Made By Koch
Industries.

That's a lie, I won't buy any Koch products and I won't frequent Mediaite.

6. Well, then don't go there.
If you wish to limit what you see then that is your choice.

I don't understand why you are dragging Drudge and Koch into this discussion.

MEDIAite is Abrams' site.

And the majority of videos there usually videos that make The GOP look like idiots, and The Democrats the sane ones.

Have a great day ;)

4. Ed has been great as of late
his on site reporting is pretty exciting, the Wisconsin rallies etc. However, he's not always fully
informed on the details and can wish and wash on supporting potus.

Lawrence is smart but he does this repetitive thing of shaming and a tone of voice he needs to reserve
for special times. Maybe he needs to get a bit creative, he certainly has the capacity to rock the tv

7. I LOVE Ed, this will be a much better time for me
to watch. O'Donnell sometimes just about puts me to sleep.
