3. But...but..they want nuclear power, and that means they want nukes
Edited on Sun Oct-23-11 10:49 AM by quinnox
and that means they would nuke us over here, first chance they get!

Never mind we would then retaliate and their country would then be turned to ash, they are crazy muslims and they wouldn't care about that!

4. Good to see your taxes being spent on such a good cause.
That expenditure would fund how many public works projects and in doing so create how many jobs.

9. If I recall my history lessons correctly, the last unprovoked war that Iran,
started was in 1600 something. It was an invasion into what now is called India.

I suppose one could make the case that they attack Israel with proxy rockets through Hezbolah and Hamas. They also occupy (minimal strength) Lebanon,
Gaza, Golan, Israel, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan and Syria in a manner that is very similar to current CIA and Mossad Ops.

The Wild Cards in Iran's deck are the Mullahs. They are complete and absolute fanatics, without a shred of human compassion in them. These are the monsters that used 10,000+ teenage boys as young as 14, to clear minefields in human waves, by running through them armed with only a little plastic "keys to paradise," imported from Taiwan around their necks. http://www.matthiaskuentzel.de/contents/ahmadinejads-demons

Our Iranian foreign policy should encourage secularist ideas, but we should not meddle in their affairs of state. After all, the era of secularism in Iran ended after Reza Shah was forcibly deposed and sent into exile by British and Soviet forces in 1941.

Likewise, the UK's meddling in Iraq in the early part of the last century had a calamitous effect on the region that is still ongoing. The effects of the recent US intervention will not be known for years...decades...even centuries.

The lessons of history are rarely learned and the re-emergence of wars and colonialism in the ME demonstrates more than ever before the idiocy and recklessness of imperialism and militarism.

13. They don't have to be geographically near us
in order to be a threat, I think that the plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador shows that. And we need to keep a watchful eye on them, just like we did with the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

We're not going to be able to rid the Syrians of Assad the way we did in Libya. Iran is a solid supporter of the current regime in Damascus, and would not sit by and simply rant if NATO launched airstrikes in Syria.

16. Demographics is what Iran needs to fear, not us.
The young people of Iran will not take being oppressed by gray-bearded religious fanatics for very much longer, the last violent repression by the state against those seeking more freedom and democracy in Iran were the first real shots fired in the 'Arab Spring'.

I know, I know, they aren't Arabs, but you get what I mean.
