Game Over for Tea Party Congress
http://theblogofprogress.com/?p=269

With the first year anniversary of our illustrious Tea Party is coming to an end, one must sit back and appreciate all the accolades. For an entire year this Republican dominated Congress has done nothing. Not a single new jobs bill, not a single new law to help with the economy in shambles. Obama tried to propose some form of jobs package because there has not been a single idea from the party of business. Suddenly their campaign calls for more jobs and a robust economy vanished. The fetish became to cut anything and everything which has been sustaining the poor and middle classes. Not a single action was taken to benefit the Nation.

Congress hit another low when Tea Party hero Ryan came up with an original idea. His plan called for an end to Medicare. Yes instead of finding ways to make us go to work Ryan was cooking up a way to kill our grandparents quicker. Once again the priorities of this Congress are completely skewed. This current crop of Tea Party stalwarts have discovered that running a campaign is not the only aspect of governing. One can stand there and talk a great deal about change, but then this talk needs to be put into policy action, and it is in is in this area where the failure of the Tea Party Congress is most obvious.

With elections coming soon, the voters need to carefully assess the situation. Where are the jobs that were promised? What happened to the robust advancement of business to the point that America will be having an economic boom rather than a bust. The failure of this Congress is extremely clear. The failure of the Tea Party is strongly evident. They have done nothing to improve the economic standing of the citizens of this Nation. With this in mind we must all strongly consider these key facts as we step up and vote in 2012. The Tea Party Congressional experiment is a failure.

4. The Tea Party still controlls the Right. This is why the GOP is
having such a time getting a Candidate for the Presidency.

To hear the Tea Party, they feel very much in control
In fact, just the other night a Tea Bagger explained
that if Romney is their only choice, they will embrace
him. After all all parts of the Party have one unifying
goal. Get rid of Obama. If we embrace Romney, he will
will be under our control just as things are now with
the Leaders of House and Senate.

In fact, according to one of the Leaders they are more
focused on putting TEA PARTY in the Senate than the
Presidential election. Leader appearing on Hardball.

How focused on the Senate are Democratic Activists???

We can't hope to compete with the GOP level of corporate money. Small individual donations can't get it done.

Just imagine an America with a GOP/Teabagger majority in the house and senate. They would claim a mandate from the people. Here was the real mandate.

6. We cannot compete--because we do not have as much money.
Therefore we just let them takeover the whole "shebang"

There is one half the country who does not even vote.
Half of those voters with what we have and we would
walk away with election after election.

7. I'm all in favor of getting those voters
out to vote for our side.

But the money, while it has always been a problem, it is really going to become a problem because of Citizens United.

I'm sure you've seen the vote 'Yes' on Issue 2 advertisements. Unfortunately our vote 'No' on issue 2 advertisements are not shown nearly as frequently. This is a direct result of money -or the lack of it.

12. Funny how the repugs refused to recognize THAT mandate.
All they did was obstruct the people those millions elected, along with THEIR mandate. Now, that they gain one house of Congress, they insist that their "mandate" must be followed. Funny how that works, eh?

14. Yup.
Bush came into office in 2000 insisting he had a huge mandate. Unbelievable hypocrisy.

13. Only a failure in our eys...
The key question will the American People see it as a failure or just another in a long line of things the American people will ignore as if it never happened?

The Republicans are not held to the same standard the Democrats are...Plus, the Republicans have the advantage of an AWOL media too scared to call out Republicans for their behavior out of fear of being labeled "BIAS" & the Republicans have an entire 24hr cable propaganda channel & basically a monopoly when it comes to the radio that has had huge success in shaping enough people's thinking for them to help sway elections over the past 25yrs.

The crazy talk & obvious LIES we see the Republican Party doing on a daily basis has yet to hurt the Republican Party in the eyes of enough Americans that they pay a political price. It is just the reality in America right now.
