Two people have gotten married in the midst of the Occupy Detroit protests, on the same day the demonstration south of the border was to unify with the Occupy Windsor rally.

Occupy Detroit spokesman Lee Gaddies said Stan Guarnelo and Brook West wed Saturday afternoon in Grand Circus Park, where protesters have gathered since Oct. 14.

Gaddies says the Detroit-area newlyweds have not been "occupiers" but felt solidarity with the movement.
