Ten years ago today, a day that will live in infamy
"Ten years ago, on Oct. 26, 2001, President George W. Bush signed the U.S.A. Patriot Act.

Congress overwhelmingly passed the law only weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks. It's designed to give the FBI more power to collect information in cases that involve national security.

But in the decade since then, civil liberties groups have raised concerns about whether the Patriot Act goes too far by scooping up too much data and violating people's rights to privacy."

What is really sad is that the Democrats haven't made a concerted effort to do away with the Patriot Act. Sad, but not surprising.

3. I really wish Russ Feingold could be "drafted", if not this time around, then at least in 2016.

The only Senator who voted against that monstrosity.

And... officially "the poorest member" of the Senate (ha! i love it! now it's Bernie who replaced him; it figures, doesn't it.)

8. Fortunately Feingold knows the point of running is to have an actual chance of being elected
and not just to get the far left all excited and lose in a landslide. My first presidential vote was for George McGovern, so I've been there, done that. All excited about a candidate who had no chance of winning.

Russ Feingold was one of my senators, but unfortunately a year ago too many Democrats here in Wisconsin were pissed at Obama and other Democrats so they chose to stay home. Choices, meet consequences.

5. "Congress overwhelmingly passed the law..."
Every person who signed it shares the blame.
