Arrested: Sean Everett Davidson (right) and Bryan David Sullivan (left) both work at Dominos and are charged for burning down a Papa John's Pizza

The competition for the most customers got hotter than a pizza oven when two managers of a Florida Dominos were arrested for arson when they burnt down a neighbouring Papa John's Pizza.

Sean Everett Davidson, 23, and Bryan David Sullivan, 22, were arrested in connection to an October 20 fire that left a Papa John's Pizza in ashes.

The fire at the Lake City Papa John's in northern Florida was reported around 3am and when the blaze was 'gutted' according to police officials.

There were no reported injuries from the fire. .............(more)

5. Free markets, free enterprise. Ayn Rand would approve.
If memory serves, Howard Roark dynamited his building in the name of uninhibited capitalism in The Fountainhead.

3. This has to be one of the most
idiotic acts I have seen recently. No mention of the owner of the shop? A couple of store managers only? wow...I hope they enjoy prison food for a while. I doubt they will be making any more pizza anytime soon.

Reminiscent of poor and working class men fighting to preserve the Southern Slave Confederacy.

12. Yes. The Poor Economy Did.
If you've ever been to Florida, you would know that there are not many decent jobs down there, and if you don't work, you're going to suffer.

21. Corporate pressure on managers is actually pretty extreme.
You bet that behind the 'official condemnation' of Domino's, they're wishing they had a thousand managers like these guys.

They just wish they were smarter.

17. When, instead, they should be working on their recipe.
Their pizzas taste like cardboard, have the texture of cardboard, and are always soggy to boot. Not to mention their "subs." The bread is as hard as bricks and the toppings look and taste like they were swept off the floor after rotting there all week. You could build a house out of those buns and have it pass for a brick home. Of course, actual bricks would end up being cheaper, but not nearly as hard.

Instead of burning down rival pizza joints, they should work on their recipe for the pizzas and either learn how to make subs or stop it altogether.

18. Yeah really, chain pizza is chain pizza: They all suck
Must be a small town in "flyover country". Any town with "real" ( mom & pop ) pizza would render the surviving chain enterprise with the corner on a diminishing market.

23. Claim used to be that there was NOTHING REAL in Domino's pizza ....
think that became so widely believed that they had to start to provide

some actual food in the pizza????

20. Heh. Few understand the seedy underworld of take-out pizza.

The tapping of lines and deceptive signage to intercept and take cash deliveries...

The sabotage of rival delivery vehicles...

And you don't even want to know what they do with the bodies.
