Republican's behind Occupy Movement?
This morning on NPR's Morning Edition there was a story of how the Republicans are starting to respond to the Occupy Movement with Romney stating he wasn't worried for the 1% that he was worried about the 99% and Eric Cantor wants to have a policy discussion about the income gap. I want to say it's about time. But, I think they are starting to get scared. I am curious what type of policy Cantor feels we need, and what Romney wants to do to help the 99%. If they have all of a sudden realized the plight of the middle and lower class, then they need to tell Grover to go fuck himself then not just roll back the Bush tax cuts, but the Reagan tax cuts which started this snowball rolling 30 years ago. But if history has taught us anything it is the Republican solution is always give to the rich, pay for it by taking from the poor, but it will be ok because the wealth will trickle down and we will hear that old saying "a rising tide lifts all boats". I for one have been tinkled on, I mean trickled on enough!
I hope I am wrong but I think it will be the same shit with new flies.

1. With the Republicans, it's always going to be about money and power.
For any move they make, money and power are somehow the end game. The French say "cherchez la femme". For the Republicans, it's "cherchez les $$$$$"

3. Republicans have two approaches to helping the 99%:
Edited on Fri Nov-04-11 07:53 PM by CJCRANE
1) The heartless do-nothing approach, as exemplified by Herman Cain when he said:
"Don't blame Wall Street. Don't blame the big banks. If you don't have a job and you're not rich - blame yourself!"

2) The pretending to care... but still do-nothing approach.

5. Their polling must be showing some big time trouble for the GOP
Edited on Fri Nov-04-11 08:11 PM by Gman
if this continues into the election next year. They're going to try to be proactive and nullify OWS now rather than fight an uphill battle next year playing defense. This is a huge deal and a huge threat to the GOP right now. OWS is much more organic than the teabaggers ever were. They were always astroturf tools. This is real and they can't get a handle on it. They know they need to get a handle on it or all the carefully laid plans for the last 2.5 years will go to shit. They will then say just about anything necessary to blunt the OWS and the national sentiment. It will all be lies and empty promises.

7. They're confused.
They're supporting the people who have 99% of the money.
