Occupy D.C. protesters block streets near convention center - right now!

Hundreds of Occupy D.C. protesters blocked streets Friday night around the Walter E. Washington Convention Center where a conservative group was holding a dinner.

It appeared from preliminary accounts that two people, possibly protesters, were struck by cars near the center.

About 500 protesters stood in the streets at half a dozen intersections around the building, preventing cars from coming or going.

11. I'm conflicted about RT
It's true that they do sometimes do good work and cover stories that our media doesn't, but on the other hand I have seen some RT pieces that were pretty much propaganda, and the comments (I watched the videos on YouTube) were pretty much like what you'd expect on a Fox News video.

But such is life - everything is complicated and nothing is black and white.

18. You have to watch all television very critically.
RT has less propaganda than Fox and balances it with some really good programming like Thom Hartmann and Max Keiser. So they have very good programming and some that I don't particularly like. Same as all the other TV stations.

27. It's pretty much the only TV I watch now as their coverage
of this historical movement from day one, has been incredible. I don't know what propaganda you have seen, but for me, it is the way TV news ought to be. No censoring of the voices of people like Amy Goodman, eg, who will not see on our Corporate Media, or Thom Harmann, who has his own excellent show on RT.

They have few ads and their interviews are thoughtful, in depth, with little interruption by the hosts so guests get to actually speak without being talked over. How great to see someone like Stiglitz, eg, be able to talk, uninterrupted and without ad breaks. I see zero resemblance to Fox, and most of the hosts are Americans except for their International news coverage.

It's painful to try to find news on the MSM anymore. It seems to be getting worse. Two full days of coverage of Cain eg, while the European crisis was going on? RT covered it as it happened and if you were watching CNN eg, you would not even know how close we are to another major Crash and maybe even worse.

They are based in DC and also do some excellent documentaries, some of them about fascinating parts of the world we rarely hear about.

I have seen more people, like Stiglitz eg, worth watching on RT in just a few months than I ever saw on the MSM in years. Their worst feature though, is the way they do the weather.

Max Keiser also has a show on RT which has been excellent in terms of the coverage of the crisis in Europe.

Al Jazeera is still not available here, and the BBC while still fairly good, is not the same as it was before the Bush/Blair gang attacked it for its truthful coverage of the Iraq War.

Demonstrators protesting the Defending the American Dream summit at the Washington Convention Center spilled into the streets Friday night.

Occupy DC marched from McPherson Square to the convention center Friday evening.

The summit intends to send a message to Congress and President Barack Obama opposing growing federal government intrusion and debt. Confirmed speakers at the summit included radio host Mark Levin, Republican presidential candidates Herman Cain and Mitt Romney, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Fox News judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano was scheduled to speak at Friday night’s Tribute to Ronald Reagan dinner.

23. I hate sketchy stuff. Sometimes it's accidental...
but sometimes it's deliberate. Bad enough we can't get M$M to care enough about the 99% to do some accurate reporting, all we have is livefeeds, cell and video cameras from witnesses. Are they edited? Manipulated? Actual and factual? Who knows...

30. More video, which seems to show him being allowed to get
in the car and leave: http://shortformblog.tumblr.com/post/12355508834/occupydc-car-crash

That blog says they will another video showing the immediate aftermath of the attack. Seems like a Lexus. They got a good shot of the license plate.

So, police across the country have arrested 3,100 peaceful demonstrators so far. But two murderous drivers who rammed their cars into crowds of people, injuring them are not arrested.

And the cop who attacked Scott Olsen has still not been arrested, nor even id'd by the cops, and is too much of a coward to step forward and identify himself.

Now there are the thugs who attacked a second Iraq/Afghanistan Vet and small business owner, nearly killing him for no reason, and nothing has been done about them either.

Who is going to protect the American people from their violent police forces?

Gov Brown has apparently said he fully supports the Oakland PD.

31. Yes, the earlier one was in Oakland, this was in DC.
Just read that three people were injured in this incident. In Oakland two people were injured and in the hospital. And more would have been had the people not prevented him from continuing his rampage. That perp has yet to be identified and arrested.
