Personhood Amend in MS a real danger to WOMEN's Rights!
The greatest assault on Women's rights in this country is underway in MS and there is nary a word of protest on these progressive pages. Where is the outrage? If the personhood amendment passes endows an EGG full rights and privileges of citizenship, it will criminalize the use of some forms of birth control, make a woman's doctor a part of the UTERUS POLICE, and make a woman's body a matter of PUBLIC DOMAIN from puberty to menses. Women could go to jail for lifestyle choices or falling down the steps or having spontaneous miscarriage, if some male chauvinist gets the power to go after women legally on these issues. We know there are many male chauvinists who will use this law to tyrannize women and yet there is no support for those in MS who oppose this amendment. This has nothing to do with abortion, it is all about POWER AND MEAN SPIRITED IDEOLOGY.

1. Is it a real danger?
Clearly, if it became enforced law, it woudl be, but it looks to me like it would go down to the court challenge in nothing flat.

2. What happens if you have an IUD and you visit Miss.?
Do they put you in jail if you have sex? Do they put you in jail only if it is your ovulation
time and you have sex? This law is bizarre and can't be enforced without serious and intimate intrusions.
As usual, the Right neglects to consider the ramifications of their policies in any kind of realistic way
(remember Iraq? tax cuts? debt ceiling debate? etc.).
