Shining BLUE across the US. *PARTIAL ELECTION RESULTS CONTINUOUS UPDATES*
Edited on Tue Nov-08-11 09:06 PM by Firebrand Gary
Election results are storming in and the skies are bright blue across our great nation.

Ohio: Currently SB5 is going down by 34 Points. Democratic Mayor Columbus Michael Coleman has won reelection

Kentucky: With numbers still rolling in it looks like the Democratic party is going to sweep the state offices. Beshear-GOV (Confirmed Win), Conway-AG and Grimes-Secretary of State

North Carolina: Kevin Hill wins runoff; Democrats control Wake school board

From the Victory Fund

Florida-Michael Smith defeated Mary Gray Black, who has a history of anti-gay and anti-trans activism on the commission.

"As Maine goes, so goes the nation". The new voter-suppression laws are not subject to referendum in most states, but this provides evidence that the public sees these laws for the naked power grab that they are.

40. Update on Virginia statewide.
In the Virginia state Senate, Dems have held the line downstate, including in SD-01 (Miller), SD-21 (Edwards) and SD-38 (Puckett), with only Reynolds in SD-20 losing so far. Control rests on Edd Houck's narrow lead in SD-17 and NoVA Dems coming through. The major points of concern there are Toddy Puller in SD-36 and Dave Marsden in SD-37; Mark Herring in SD-33 and George Barker in SD-39 (whose narrow victory got us control in 2007) are looking a bit better. Our one pickup opportunity, the newly created SD-13, has not really come through (though hopefully may in future cycles), with the GOP out to a 56-44 lead.

51. Congratulations to Democratic Mayor Elect Greg Stanton Phoenix, Arizona
“Mayor-elect Stanton has a record of standing up for the middle class and promoting an economy that gives Americans a fair opportunity at reaching the American Dream. His victory is a welcome development in the Grand Canyon State, where Arizonans have been devastated and homeownership decimated over reckless economic policies on Wall Street.

“Mayor-elect Stanton won because people in Phoenix rallied around his message of creating an environment where our families can win the future: a fairer economy that spurs growth for small businesses, safety, and better education for our children. I congratulate Mayor-elect Greg Stanton for a hard-fought victory in Phoenix.”

Another state legislature that was decided tonight was in the Garden State. The status quo essentially prevailed, as the Democrats picked up a single seat in the state Assembly and held serve in the state Senate.
