5. There were a couple of times during the divestment protests
that Sproul looked like that, with people spilling out into the street. That was 25 years ago. lol

8. That's the nature of a bureaucracy. Whether
it's a government bureaucracy, a labor bureaucracy, or a Stalinist bureaucracy, rules are sacred. NO MATTER THE OBJECTIVE SITUATION THE RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED. That's also why bureaucracies are so innately conservative.

9. Fell asleep watching live stream, just after GA voted for a
system-wide student and faculty strike next Tuesday (Nov. 15) against fee hikes and other depredations. UC Board of Regents meeting Wed., Nove. 16. I'm going to try to help get the word out at UCLA, although I have only a layperson's access to the UCLA campus.
