But I think the focus should be on the victims, and the inappropriate reaction of the students at Penn State to the handling of this crime - not on politics. Believe me, I love bashing the republican hypocrisy as much as the next guy - but not in this case; at least not now.
Peace.

to a disproportionate number of conservatives being involved in sex crimes.

Their hyper regressive stance on sexuality creates monsters.

Regressive nature of sexuality does to young priests entering the priesthood before they've had a chance to have a normal sex life. Some can become developmentally delayed in their sexual maturity and misdirect it.

I think some of the same preachings of the GOP create sexual problems in people I'll-equipped to cope. Also, the mentality they have about not seeking help for personal problems bears on this.

14. It has everything to do with it. What we are witnessing is a mindset that puts.....
the organization above morality. We witness it every day in the way the repug party puts itself above the nation and repug voters go along as long as "their team" wins. It's the authority thing.
Denial of morals and ethics is what the modern republican party does every day, especially that 30% (including Joe P) that still think shrub was great.

He was run out not for his behavior but because he was an inconvenient thorn in the side of the Democratic establishment that gave them a convenient excuse to drum him out.

I gather that the board *did* decide not to keep Paterno in his position so I fail to see your point once again.

Your post and one in freeperville also have something in common: they both attempt to make partisan hay out of vile crimes.

58. And if your Google search had come up with the information that
Sandusky was a Dem (we all know that Paterno is a Repub-that's not news) would this thread be here? No, it wouldn't. We would be upset that the Repubs were making it a political issue. Child rape transcends politics. Basically it comes down to this. Sandusky raped children, and Paterno did nothing about it.

61. On the one hand this is true, but on the other hand, this involves a major football program.
Football programs like Penn State's are closely intertwined with state politics. The big money donors to Penn State are unquestionably big money donors to state politicians and probably federal politicians.

Politics is involved in this one way or the other. No way to separate the two, because the money and power connect them.

67. Actually, if you want to hear really screwed up...
I've heard Corbett, our dearly beloved, spending-cutting Republican governor possibly pushed the Sandusky story into the headlines because he hates Penn State for pushing back against his education cuts. All of these people suck. Just a lot of people in power eating their own--no one cares about the victims involved.

80. what a great guy!
As governor, Corbett maintains that Pennsylvania should not tax the natural gas industry.<18> <19> In February 2011, Corbett repealed a four month old policy regulating natural gas drilling in park land, deeming it "unnecessary and redundant" according to a spokesperson.

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party called the repeal a "payoff" to oil and gas interests which donated a million dollars to Corbett's campaign.<20>

According to Corbett, "had they not given me a dime, I would still be in this position," saying "we need to grow jobs in Pennsylvania." <21>.

In April 2011, Corbett proposed that colleges in the state offset budget cuts to education by drilling for natural gas on campus and keeping the revenue.

62. Exactly right.
My dad is a tried-and-true Republican and wants to see them all strung up. And some of my dem Penn State friends think Paterno should have been allowed to retire at the end of the season. Go figure.

Every bad thing is done due to being a republican, or despite being a Democrat.

Every good thing is done by a Democrat, or despite being a republican.

Once we realize that the problems of rape and pedophilia never existed until the advent of the (post-Lincoln) GOP, our re-eduction will be quite successful, and only a mere handful of trouble-makers and wreckers will still be around maintaining the quaint, old-fashioned notion that people commit horrible and vulgar acts because of who they are, rather than placing the blame at the feet of race, religion, party-affiliation or income where it firmly belongs...

(Reliable sources tell me that Caligula voted for both Nixon and Ford. Film at eleven.)

77. UnRec
What utter tripe.

Why bring politics into this when it has FUCK ALL to do with it?

Sometimes, on this board, the apparent need to tie all things evil to the republicans is pathological.

Very weak OP...children were raped and you want to make this an us vs. them thing???

What a disgusting OP

Oh...and I love the sarcasm from Lantern Waste above....well done, sir\madam.

89. +1 The need to link these revolting excuses for human garbage to
Christians and/or Republicans is the height of stupidity and hypocrisy. Like you said, these people's religion and/or political affiliation have fuck all to do with this disgusting episode.

Why this is so important to some people truly explains why so many Americans want nothing to do with either party.
