Family Offering $10K Reward in Dog's Shooting Death
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WCAV) -- A family in northern Albemarle County is offering a large reward to find the person responsible for shooting and killing their 10-month-old Siberian Husky, Mattie.

Ed and Yvonne Scarborough have been passing out a brochure that offers $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person who shot their dog in her own front yard.

The Fray's Grant family says the shooting happened in their subdivision on Saturday Jan. 15 between the hours of 7pm and 11pm.

A veterinarian was able to retrieve the rifle bullet from Mattie and the Scarborough family has turned that piece of potential evidence over to police investigators.

The shooting is just the latest in what residents are calling a rash of unsolved crimes.

"With lots of small children and our animals in here, we're very concerned for the safety of our families and pets," said Mattie's owner, Yvonne Scarborough.

The Fray's Grant homeowner's association has planned an emergency meeting to consider security measures like gates and surveillance cameras.

The local news station has been informed that wider exposure will get the story picked up by CNN. Please help get this out there.

This person needs to be found ASAP. They also need to determine if the family was being targeted, or if this person
was cruising neighborhoods with a rifle, looking for a random victim(s). Either way, this is a very dangerous person
who needs to be locked up.

3. This crime is sickening
Monsters that get off killing innocent pets deserve worse than our lame-ass legal system will ever give them. I do hope they catch the piece of human shit that did this though, even if they can only give him a slap on the wrist.

For people who don't value animal lives, humans can be killed by these creeps also, they can miss their murder target and shoot through a kid's bedroom window.

4. In my area, someone thought it would be fun to shoot a chihuahua with an arrow -
"TIPTON, Iowa - A little dog named Victor has a new home and the promise of a better future, thanks to the help of some Friends.

On Nov. 1, Victor, a 5-pound Chihuahua, was found on the porch of a house in the small town of Sunbury with an arrow embedded in his shoulder.

The little dog was shaking, but could still move around, said Cedar County Sheriff's Deputy Jay Johnson, who was called to the scene by the homeowners. Johnson called Friends of the Animals, a non-profit organization in Tipton that promotes humane principles toward animals."
