Sandusky was still recruiting for PSU perhaps until his arrest:
In the wake of Penn State football legend Jerry Sandusky being criminally charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse of children, including the rape of at least one 10-year-old boy in the Penn State locker room, it has been widely surmised that Sandusky was no longer an active member of a Penn State program inexorably connected to now-fired head coach

But thanks to a stunning revelation in Greenville, South Carolina, today, it appears Paterno and now-former Penn State recruiting coordinator Mike McQueary, both of whom knew of Sandusky’s child rape in their own locker room in 2002, had kept Sandusky on as a Penn State football recruiter perhaps until the day he was arrested last Friday. (And then quickly released by State College authorities on unsecured bond - meaning he didn’t have to put up a dime to earn his freedom.)

This week a highly touted high school linebacker in South Carolina, Adam Ah Ching, told South Carolina news outlet WYFF-TV that Sandusky, who was also spotted in the Penn State football facility three times last week, was recruiting him on behalf of Penn State.

1. K&R so that all the people who have been defending McQueary & Paterno
can read this OP.

Paterno & McQueary KNEW and they not only did NOTHING, they worked SIDE-BY-Side with that CHILD RAPIST.

2. So they had him recruiting high school boys? Is that what this
means? They were sending him to 'recruit' underage students, in the field? Wow.

6. The player in the story said
that he was in the stands for at least one game. Sandusky talked to him after the game, and gave him a positive message. The coach said he wasn't aware of it, but I'll bet he stayed away from any adults if he could.

I don't think this was made up by the player. They probably sent him to low profile places. This shows how arrogant and out of touch Paterno was. The NCAA can probably use this if they decide to act.

So, in sum, the way was paved for him to abuse other kids if he could take advantage of the situation. Not good. They may have to check all the recruiting and see how much he was involved. then they might be contacting those kids he was recruiting. In addition, I wonder if Sandusky knows other pedophiles in those places. I'm sure he knows others.

And just when you think it couldn't get any uglier.....

3. That kid scratched PSU off his list and says other recruits are doing the same.
Penn State's football program is going south one way or another. They're a pariah now; football players wouldn't be caught dead going there. A lot of regular students, too, will be looking elsewhere. Who wants that taint? I hope all involved realize the extent of what they have done.

13. The Feds in the Education Department are
looking into it because they may have violated The Jeanne Clery Act.

Summary Of The Jeanne Clery Act
Clery Act FAQs:
Jeanne Clery Act FAQs

What is the Jeanne Clery Act?
The "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act" (originally the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990) is a federal law that requires institutions of higher education in the United States to disclose campus security information including crime statistics for the campus and surrounding areas. It was first enacted by Congress in 1990 and amended in 1992, 1998, 2000 and 2008.

Who is Jeanne Clery?
In 1986 Jeanne Clery, a freshman at Pennsylvania's Lehigh University, was murdered and sexually assaulted in her campus residence hall room by another student she didn't know. Her school hadn't informed students about 38 violent crimes on campus in the three years preceding her murder. Clery's parents, Connie & Howard, led the crusade to enact the original Campus Security Act. Congress formally named the law in memory of Clery in 1998.

Which schools must comply with the Clery Act?
All institutions of postsecondary education, both public and private, that participate in federal student aid programs must publish and disseminate an annual campus security report as well as make timely warnings. If the institution maintains a police or security department of any kind they must also maintain a crime log that is open to the general public.

What does a school have to disclose under the Clery Act?
Schools must publish and disseminate an annual campus security report containing various security policies and three years worth of crime statistics. They must also issue timely warnings about crimes that pose an ongoing danger. Schools with a police or security department of any kind must also maintain a public crime log of all crimes reported to that department.
A list of the security policies and crime statistics that schools are required to include in their annual report can be found at...
http://www.securityoncampus.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=884

Who is entitled to receive information under the Clery Act?
Currently enrolled students and employees are to receive a school's annual campus security report automatically. Prospective students and employees are to be provided with information about the report and entitled to request a copy. The general public, including parents and the news media, have access to the public crime log.

18. Offensive tackle from Colorado, ranked top player in Penn State's '12 class, decommits.
Penn State football recruit changes his mind
Friday, November 11, 2011
By Michael Sanserino, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Joey O'Connor, an offensive tackle from Colorado, has become the first recruit to decommit from Penn State since the school fired coach Joe Paterno.

O'Connor is a four-star recruit and recruiting services ranked him as the top player in Penn State's 2012 class. He is undecided on which school he will attend.
