4. I'm guessing this was a divorcee trying to see and/or kidnap his child.
He's not supposed to be there, officer confronts him, struggle ensues, and either the guy tries to shoot the officer or the gun goes off negligently.

15. yep, a guy killed his ex wife at a college I attended
He had stopped at the daycare at the school first but the kids had been picked up by an aunt-who knows what he planned for them.

A guy in construction I used to date managed to stop him by leaping on top of him from a building he was working on, as the guy rode by on his motorcycle after shooting his ex wife to death.

7. When is someone in the Media going to take note of all the
policemen being shot???? Police(Government employees)
and represent the "government".

Over the past year, there seem to be a lot of policemen shot
if not killed.

It is fortunate he was wearing protective armour.

9. There actually does not appear to be any sort of increasing trend
http://www2.fbi.gov/ucr/killed/2009/data/table_70.html

I'm not making light of attacks on cops, but this unfortunately is little different from past years.

11. Check all around the individual states. Ohio has had a few.
When it comes to Cops a few is too many. Not long ago
other states have had spotty reports. We just had
one funeral.

19. Not to mention that California has the toughest gun laws in the nation
The Brady Campaign gives them a 79% rating, the highest in the nation - and still they have to deal with this. Methinks the gun laws aren't working so good.

20. Yeah, and if only that cop had been armed, it might not have happened.
And other clichés.
