Something I've been wondering about the UC Davis scandal:
Who shot the video and the photos that are now literally all over the globe? If it was one of the protesters, I'm surprised the cops didn't go after that person.

1. It's getting harder and harder for them to do that
These days almost everyone has a camera on them. There were probably several people filming.

2. There were hundreds of people there with cameras.
How do you find that person?

No, they will clamp down on the net and on cell phones.

8. Remember a year or two ago...
... when Obama was given authority to shut down the internet for security reasons in the event of a cyber attack, etc.... I don't remember the details - was it an EO or legislation - but it could be done.

9. Surprisingly, I don't remember that.
But if this administration can force force a financial services embargo on Wikileaks, I don't doubt it in the slightest.

15. At which point the economy goes Tango Uniform in a matter of days..
Just in time delivery requires the internet, without it there will be food riots within a week, tops.

4. I've seen pictures taken from several different angels - and
in a couple of shots the people in the crowd that weren't covering their mouths (in horror and protection) had their smart phones up, clicking and taping away. So I think there may have been far too many people to go after.

Lt. Pike has got to be one of the biggest idiots on the planet, if that was his thinking.

20. I'd like to point out that like NYC it was the SUPER
doing this... rank and file are saying SIR... NO SIR.

I will grant you this, one of those things you need to have worked side by side with cops to understand.

It is a a major crack in the system.

And no, I do not think too many of his officers were chuckling over it. Or they themselves would have done it.

14. Too many people had cameras
With the way phones and tablets are, pretty much everyone is capable of being a citizen journalist. That's why it amazes me that they continue to do things like this - it's not like they don't know they are going to be filmed.

16. Knowing something intellectually and getting it emotionally are two different things.
They really haven't yet adjusted to the new reality.

It's going to take them some time to realize emotionally that they can't get away with lying about everything any more.

18. One or two cameras you can stop
everybody and their sister has a camera these days.

I could share a curious exchange with local credentialed media, who is hating this as much as the cops.

Sending some of the police state lovers over the deep end, evidently.

21. Sure is
they are dazed and confused and are looking for anything they can use to
discredit the incident and find a way to prevent people from exercising
their rights.

Which brings me to this question, who are the culprits here? is it the
person doing the act or the enablers.
