Was watching CNN. The Republicans on the Super Committee said they didn't
want Obama involved with negotiations because he would make it political. Now they are blaming Obama for not using his bully pulpit. Anyone else seen this scenario play out in the MSM or blogosphere. DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT!

1. I wondered when they'd start whining.
Didn't take long. They look bad, really bad.

2. Their very point of departure is one of whining. Everything else is just...
different levels of whine!

:hi:

3. "He would make it political"
What the hell field do they think they are in? Everything they do is political because they are politicians. The deadlock was because of politics. The failure to come up with a compromise was because of politics.

It's like saying "I didn't want that guy to come to church because he would make it religious."

4. Yes, not being involved but having too much of his agenda on the table.
Slimey, two faced mf-er talk.

5. Sen. Marco Rubio is pushing the meme too
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/11/20/sen_marco_rubio_obama_failed_to_lead_on_supercommittee.html

Presidents aren't supposed to be holding Congress' hand and solving the problems that its ELECTED members are apparently too stupid and/or incompetent and/or corrupted to solve. Given such blatant ignorance of how government is supposed to work (according to the US Constitution), it's not really any wonder why Republican politicians suck at actually governing, not that they really want to anyway. I figured that Republican politicians would try to pin the blame for the so-called "Super Committee's" impending failure on President Obama somehow. I guess it's starting now. Oh joy.

7. What ever you hear from one of them, you will hear it from all
They are good at following a message. It is put out there and all the members of the part follow the propaganda straight through to the talking heads.

6. The Super Committee
was designed to show how effective the phrase "Catch-22" really is. It is political no matter how one slices it, no matter how it is added up, divided, subtracted, or whatever kind of math is used to show the ananity of the design of committee's only use to waste time and money. Politicians mostly reflect this type of rinse and repeat behavior, a job most other people could not stand to do for the total lack of ethics involved.

8. That's become a standard ploy:
"We don't want Obama interfering."

Two weeks later...

"Obama refused to take a leadership role!"

10. As I understood it
the so-called "Super Committee" was supposed to be Congress' responsibility and wasn't even supposed to involve the President (though he still offered some proposals).

What I don't understand is why the Republicans keep demanding that President Obama take an active leadership role in Congressional affairs but then they reflexively oppose anything and everything he proposes (and smears him and his proposals for good measure) and then they blame him for "not leading" when he finally gives up working with them out of frustration (which, of course, any sane person would do under similar circumstances).

Although it would in no way be appropriate nor Presidential for him to do so, it would be immensely gratifying to see him stand up at the SOTU in 2013 and basically tell the Republicans to go "Cheney" themselves and flip them the bird.

12. Because the Republicans know that the public will drop this in their laps.
So they are trying to push more of the blame onto President Obama.

They've been painted into a corner and they can feel it.
