Insane In The Cain Membrane: "As a descendent of slaves, I can lead the Republican party to victory"

In a new Iowa mailer, Herman Cain says he believes he will be the 2012 GOP nominee because he’s a descendant of slaves who can garner a large share of the black vote, he didn’t inherit a dime, he has traveled the globe for years, and he’s a believer in Jesus Christ.

“The news media and the Republican establishment are stunned!” says the first line of the seven-page mailer. “I am now the front runner in the race for the Republican Presidential campaign and the highly regarded Rasmussen poll shows me defeating President Obama.”

A “poll” asks people to check a box for a candidate among a list of nine in alphabetical order, including Gary Johnson.

Cain lists several points on why he thinks he will win the nomination, including that “as a descendent of slaves I can lead the Republican party to victory by garnering a large share of the black vote, something that has not been done since Dwight Eisenhower garnered 41 percent of the black vote in 1956.”

6. A descendant of slaves who wasn't very involved in the
movement to give them civil rights denied to them by the racist state govermnents in the South. And a member of the party which gained power in the South because of the Civil Rights Movement.

12. Mentioning his name in the same sentence as Dwight Eisenhower
Eisenhower actively sought and earned the support of the African American community through his actions. He promoted the Civil Rights Act which was eventually introduced in Eisenhower's presidency in 1957 and was one of the things that kick-started the civil rights movement. In 1957, Eisenhower sent the 101st Airborne to Little Rock when Governor Faubus refused to integrate the schools. Do you think any modern Republican would support the federal government by sending federal troops to deny a states' rights assertion of state power? Eisenhower wasn't exactly a complete liberal but he was light years ahead of the whackos seeking the nomination like Cain.
