Poll question: How Long do You Think this New (Glenn Beck) Stink Bomb Will Last?
Yep, he's really going to try to do this.

Jillian Rayfield November 23, 2011, 10:24 AM

Glenn Beck, comedy entrepreneur, is trying to tap into the market for a “nonpartisan” alternative to The Daily Show with a fake news show on his GBTV network, called The B.S. of A..

<...>

Sack’s mandate: Stay objective, rational and witty as he views politics and pop culture through a nonpartisan lens. Host Brian Sack is author of ‘The B.S. of A. - A Primer in Politics for the Incredibly Disenchanted’ and previously served as Czar-at-Large for Beck’s Insider Extreme network. His staff’s credits include Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with David Letterman, HBO, MTV and several other three-letter networks.

“It won’t be for the thin-skinned - we’re going to be completely indifferent to political parties or ideology,” Sack said. “In fact, I’m making the staff take the ‘no sacred cows’ pledge, and as soon as we figure out how to translate that phrase into Latin we will make that the show’s motto. Because Latin makes you sound smarter than you are. I’d like to put that on flags and cups. I have to think about merchandising.”

In one joke, Sack says: “A new study shows that optimism may be the byproduct of a poorly functioning frontal lobe, and that brain activity lessens when a person is upbeat. I think Obama has his 2012 campaign slogan.” He then cuts to a picture of a bumper sticker that says “I have a poorly functioning frontal lobe,” with the “O” in “lobe” as Obama’s campaign logo.

I really had no clue he was doing this. So how much longer will it last?

2. We are to be spared NOTHING
Fortunately, I see this enduring almost as long as Fox's half hour comedy hour show. Bootleg copies of the program will become collector's items, treasured by aficionados and swapped around with all sorts of post-production mischief inserted a la MST3K.

3. They tried this once before on Fox News.
I don't know if I have forgotten the name of the show or if I've blocked it. Either way, it lasted something like 3 episodes. It was god awful. I am sure this will be no better.

9. That show was pure Comedy Gold!
That is if you define 'comedy' as 'neurotic' and 'gold' as 'santorum'.

I'd only suggest euthanasia if the show actually became popular with a majority of Americans. Then I'd say make sure the youth have appropriate educations and are actually from Asia.

11. Haahaa!!! Yes the Santorum dripped out of that one. Also well played on the "euthanasia".

10. Usually, when plugging one's own program, one would choose to use one of the finest bits of comedy
from the show.

I'm afraid he did exactly that in the above.
