11. Uh...yeah.
Amazing, though, how that got through.

I remember once back in the Ice Age when computers were relatively new to newspapers that someone on the copy desk redid a school lunch menu as a joke. They thought the "new and improved" menu would be for eyes-only enjoyment (not printed -- there was a command that allowed comments to be hidden) but it got in the paper anyway. The school's dietitian nearly had a fit and it was hard to smooth things over. Nobody copped to doing it, but we pretty much figured out who did it by process of elimination.

7. OMG are you serious?
I read about "the belt" in my morning paper and thought "My God, what idiots, no wonder the world is in such a mess with so many people believing silly crap like this." Apparently someone at the Times agrees.

9. Is this worse than lining up for
"Black Friday" shopping?

I don't know if it's 79% or 59% or 39%, but there are far too many idiots around the world.

16. You make an excellent point.
Stores are opening at 10 pm and midnight here. I suppose there will be stories in the media about stampedes. Now that's what I call idiocy.

No, it hasn't been corrected.
It was correct the first time. Let's be neutral and say it's now been revised.
