roid rage cops
Edited on Fri Nov-25-11 08:02 PM by Divine Discontent
Hopefully, from today's ridiculous shopping events (why even go out and deal with this shit!), more of our fellow Americans will grasp that there are cops who will treat their position as a ticket to abuse the citizens they come into contact with. OWS protesters have been getting abused for doing a lot less than these excited/pushy customers who might accidentally fall into a cardboard stand of cheap cell phones, but it doesn't change the fact that neither event should be resulting in cop abuse (see links below).

Violent abusers shouldn't be allowed to keep their badges after they've displayed the capacity to avoid reason, and beat down people for no damned good reason! Steroid abuse among cops is said to be an epidemic, and activists have said that is part of the reason there is such roid-rage responses to peaceful protesters (and shoppers... and cyclists) to show us they're the Boss!

NJ lawmakers tried taking action on this earlier this year, and obviously, if just one doctor in NJ was supplying hundreds of area cops with steroids, then it's being done by thousands and thousands more.

1. the very first story I read about was a woman pepper spraying 20 people
waiting in line for a store to open. I read the police even let her go free.

So police actually react to a mob and suddenly they're the same as OWS people or UC students sitting with their arms linked?

Jesus! Give me a break!

2. What do you expect from the pigs?
I've seen too many films of fire hoses and pepper spray over the years to give me a warm-and-fuzzy feeling about the police, DESPITE having several in my immediate family.

3. agreed! for those who have seen police actions dozens of times, there's NOTHING people can say to
those who know better. Also, these stories are clear as crystal in showing the cops overreacting. I can imagine you have stories your relatives have told you that are quite interesting.

5. it is getting absurd, isn't it?
many of the worst types of bullies from school were the ones who went into law enforcement/military, along with the good brave ones, who are part of law enforcement and the military. In researching for this post, I saw that there was a report in Chicago about the code of silence amongst cops when their counterparts did something wrong. It's as if they feel they can't give the facts to their bosses, or that their bosses don't want to know about the facts, and therefore, the bad guys in uniform get to stay who enjoy their little power trip, causing more havoc on society hundreds of times a day in this country.
