Cops showed "restraint" by not shooting "the striped beasts" says article

Escaped Zebras From VA Petting Zoo Home Again

Although the equines roamed freely in traffic, luckily there were no injuries reported. While some people may believe they are as harmless as horses, zebras are reputed to be unpredictable and aggressive.

Nevertheless, the two fools at the Leesburg Animal Park who left the zebras' pen open should be investigated. The two workers were not employees, but they should still be held accountable.

-------------------------

Thankfully, the escaped zebras did not suffer the same fate as 48 animals, including lions and Bengal tigers, slaughtered after they were set free from an Ohio zoo last month.

Of course, the two cases are very different, but the sheriffs who trapped the striped beasts Monday should be commended for showing restraint.

2. Are you suggesting the OWS protesters should have been tranquilized and hauled off?

The escaped zebras were shot with tranquilizer darts and returned to the zoo.

5. Peaceful OWS protesters are shot at and military pepper-sprayed and beaten with batons and
wrestled to the ground.

19. Call a club anything you want it is still a club.
Bâton de ski, is the way I think of "baton" Not as a syrupy word applied to a tool for beating people down. Baton sounds too damn nice IMO.
Coined by a vendor of police state equipment?

Call it a duck if it makes you feel better I guess.

21. I really don't need your education tips
It is a Goddamn club no matter what you call it.
Some more shit to further militarize the police in this country to circumvent the Posse Comitatus Act.
I will not call a club this benign word. Why do you think they call it that?
George Carlin could do a skit about the choice of words here.

Bart: Wow! Can I see your club?
Lou: It's called a baton, son.
Bart: Oh. What's it for?
Lou: We club people with it.

4. That would be an amazing thing to see!
It's nice the cops "showed restraint," but praising them for not shooting things is like praising a 7-year-old for not pooping his pants.

I saved the file and enlarged it. I showed it to Paul and he sees a plastic bag. I have no idea. Looks like it's on the tree in the middle of the island. (Unless we're looking at 2 different things.)

Every once in a while, you'd see them when driving in that area on Hwy 1. Fun.

16. Zebras are very dangerous animals.
They evolved in an environment where they had to defend themselves against big cat predators, and they can kick like hell.
