He'll be back. I was watching tonight when he made the announcement and read himself off the air with Thurber. A WTF moment for me. Can't wait to hear the details on what went wrong with his contract negotiations and am even more curious to see what he does next. Thanks. :hi:

I remember when Keith started and I thought, geez, isn't this the guy from ESPN?
Then I remembered my grandpa's favorite saying, "Don't argue with someone who has the facts on his side."

And Keith had the facts!!!
He connected the dots for a lot of us.
He had my attention for the entire 8 years!
Every night, almost.

He was on Letterman's program the night that McCain canceled an appearence to be on Dave's show, saying he had to go back to Washington because of the phony "banking crisis" in 2008 and then McCain appeared on CBS News with Katie Couric!!

My gawd, what a night in television history that was!!
Caught a phony baloney politician lying out of his mouth to the entire country!!!

I hope he finds a way to keep being easily available for us to hear. He truly galvanized MSNBC into what it is with his well made show.

Why don't they start their own network?

Did anyone hear Ed Schultz say tonight "If I couldn't talk about things that affect the middle class than I don't want to be on this show"? I did! Is this going to be the way it goes from here? Let's hope not!

He' one of the loudest and most outspoken voices in there. I don't think the new management is going to take to kindly to him, or Cenk for that matter.

He was the only media voice out there who put my thoughts into words. It was comforting to turn on KO and know that he spoke for me; a bright beacon of truth during very dark days.

I hope Keith knows what he means to me and all of us.

I really believe he does...

We wouldn't have made it through those dark years without him. At times a lone voice of dissent against the most powerful people in the world, that takes guts.

Just came back to DU.

I liked KO as a sports writer.

and feeling creepy about our leadership and those that control wealth and power.

KO is a genuine person and profesional.

we'd make coffee at six, have some dinner and head out to the living room by seven o'clock with our coffee cups in hand, settle in and turn on keith.

after his show we would turn on "whatever"--until rachel came onto the scene. then we'd stay tuned and watch her.

on some nights when i worked late she would watch keith and when i got home she'd say to me: "you have to watch keith tonight" and then she'd tell me what was on his show. so i'd watch it on the rerun and my mom would still be up and in the living room and she'd watch it all over again with me.

every night. monday through friday. all the time. for years.
it was something we both looked forward to.
it was one of the few things my mother looked forward to.

my mom was older--she never went out. this show was an important part of her life.

my mom passed in the autumn of 2009

i want to thank keith for giving us this wonderful show--for being so open-minded--a trait my mom highly valued. and i want to thank him for sharing his humor, thoughtfulness, sarcasm, subtleties, and bold, meaningful commentaries that helped to make the final years of her life a little more enjoyable and interesting.

it was great.

Our local seafood supply, what I normally eat, is too hazardous. I have also stopped drinking from water fountains, and don't trust some of the local farms.

in his contract which would forbid him from going to another network for a certain period of time (probably two years). David Shuster said something to that effect last night on Anderson Cooper's show. Hopefully there will be ways Keith can still reach his audience without violating the terms of his contract.

I always got a smile from that one.
