Observation: Ever notice that, if TV news were any measure, no one simply
says anything these days?

Instead, someone "opens up," or "speaks out" or "reaches out" or "breaks her silence."

I guess they "report" on so much meaningless drivel that they have to try to make it seem interesting by overdramatizing.

Just thought I'd break my silence about this issue.

1. And they always talk in the present tense
That makes it hard to understand and totally phoney sounding... but it sounds more urgent, so there it is... "speak as if it's happening right now"...
