Ah. Jack LaLanne died.
Edited on Sun Jan-23-11 09:43 PM by proud2BlibKansan
Just got a text from AP.

My mom just loved Jack. She used to get up early and turn him on and exercise like a fool. Good memories.

38. No kidding.
We used to cover his annual Marina del Rey stunt where he'd swim and tow a boat behind him.

Remarkable man. Rest in peace. He's probably setting up exercise classes with the rounder angels.

46. I think it has a lot to do with the genes you're
born with. Of course since you don't know whether you have good strong healthy genes or not it's best to take care of yourself as much as you can.

48. Yep, same thing with my grandfather
Died last weekend at age 97. He started smoking at age 11, at least a 2 pack/day habit for most of his life. He also had a horrible diet, was overweight until his 90's, and drank a lot of alcohol.

In his case though, he loved eating garlic and onions. He ate them raw, he ate them for breakfast, he put them in everything. I'm sure that's what kept him alive, lol!

My other grandfather is 101. I'm very lucky to have such great longevity genes. I'm going to need them. I'm no Jack Lalanne.

My wife and I went to the hospital this afternoon to see a friend who just went thru a double by-pass heart surgery and we were discussing people that were in great shape and my wife brought up Jack La Lanne... probably very close to the time of his passing...
