I am an employee of the federal government. Today everyone was talking about a plan to force furloughs on us (I think) similar to California’s new plan. They claimed that we will be forced to take two weeks of unpaid leave during the year. They also claim that we cannot withdraw funds from or Thrift Savings Plans during furlough. To be honest, I didn’t check my email so I can’t confirm the rumor but I don’t find anything via google. Can anyone confirm this for me?

3. thank you
I have only two comments that I would like to send to that Colorado Fruitcake:
1st, does that include your staff members? How about our soldiers will they be exempt?
2nd, for 2011, I think your salary needs to be calculated by the week and that you also need to loose two weeks pay? Although, you probably wouldn’t miss it; so how about we change the constitution to make each Congressperson’s salary equal 20% more than the average (or is it mean) in their district. I don’t know where Colorado ranks but I think that would put a Mississippian congressman’s annual salary to be about $50,000. Just think how much we could save
