2. The opposition
They had that on the crawler. They were denying it earlier, now they are back on.

I smell behind the scenes pressure to find a peaceful way out. Not only us by the way. France most likely is also having a few nudges.

7. Ah. Crazy. I think Mubarak needs to get it through his brain that
his reign is over and appointing an ersatz VP won't wash. These people don't seem like they're willing to give up. I'm with them all the way.

8. it is almost as if there is a script for these things
and he is following to a T. this is about power, and letting go is not going to be fast or easy. If he gets it soon... he can live the rest of his short life (according to Catherina he has terminal cancer) in relative peace. If he does not... and sticks around... well Caucescu comes to mind.

I suspect there are a lot of behind the scenes ahem pressures right now. The power elites cannot allow him to hang... no pun.

10. I hope it doesn't come to that -- . I've been on pins and needles
for days. SOMETHING has got to give! I wonder what, if anything, will be the result of the million man march tomorrow!

12. I will -- I confess I wasn't paying that much attention at the time. Time
to learn a little history.

And you're right - need to put it in perspective. I just don't want to see the people weaken and Mubarak swoop in and carry on. I'm suspicious what they're planning and plotting. They won't go quietly into the night.

3. This is a last ditch effort by Mubarak to hold on to power
Not falling for this. They will be all gone tomorrow.

9. And he will have such credibility with the opposition....

Ah well, guess they've got to talk to somebody in that nest of thieves.

Far from end game I think.
